Free signature and disclaimer makers

Make a Gmail, Outlook or Apple Mail signature, or an email disclaimer, without an account. Copy it and paste it into your mail app. Nothing is sent to us.

Four tools work without an account, from Free tools in the site footer or at /tools:

What happens to what you type

Nothing you type is sent to us or saved on our side. The form is saved in your browser on this device, so it's still there after a reload or when you come back weeks later, photo and logo included. Start over removes it, which is worth doing on a shared computer. A picture you pick from your device is shrunk in your browser and saved there too; it's never uploaded. A private window forgets everything when you close it.

Make a signature

  1. Pick a design. Every design from the signature editor is there, each shown with your own details. Click Show all designs to see them all.
  2. Fill in your details: name, job title, company, email, phone, mobile, website, booking link and address. Empty fields are left out, and designs with a meeting button or QR code use your booking link.
  3. Add a photo and a logo, either as a link to a picture online or as a file from your device. Designs without a photo or logo leave them out.
  4. Add social links. Designs with social links show yours.
  5. Click Copy signature, then follow the steps on the page for Gmail, Outlook or Apple Mail. They're the same steps as for a personal signature.

Until you type something, the preview shows a sample person in the design you picked, and copying is off. The preview grows to fit the whole signature. Colors, fonts, layout and blocks can't be changed in the free makers: make a free account to customize the design.

Pictures in Gmail, Outlook and Apple Mail

A link to a picture online works everywhere. A file from your device is inline in the copied signature, and mail apps treat it differently:

  • Gmail leaves out pasted pictures that aren't online. After you paste, click Insert image in Gmail's signature box and upload the picture there, or use a link.
  • Outlook usually keeps pasted pictures. If one is missing, add it with the picture button in Outlook's signature editor, or use a link.
  • Apple Mail usually keeps pasted pictures. If one is missing, drag the picture file into the signature box in Mail's settings, or use a link.

A free account hosts your photo and logo for you, so they show in Gmail, Outlook and Apple Mail.

Make a disclaimer

  1. Switch on the clauses you need: confidentiality, sent by mistake, no binding agreement, personal views, viruses, privacy notice, and a line about printing.
  2. Add your company name and, if you like, your registered name, registration details, registered address and a link to your privacy notice. Several countries, including the UK, require registered company details in business email.
  3. Pick a text size and color, then click Copy disclaimer (formatted) or Copy as plain text, and paste it at the end of your signature.

The wording is a common starting point, not legal advice.

Save your designs

The tools don't save anything. To keep a signature, make a free account and choose Just me: your signature is saved and you can edit it in the full signature editor. To give a whole team signatures, connect your directory instead; a disclaimer can then be locked onto everyone's signature (see the signature editor).
